📌Leaders of Change Foundation announces an open competition for candidates from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan for THE LANE KIRKLAND SCHOLARSHIPS in Poland in the 2024–2025 academic year.
🟢The Lane Kirkland Scholarship Program has been supporting the individual development of young, ambitious
and active citizens from Eastern Europe, South Caucasus, and Central Asia for 24 years. Since 2000, over 1000 alumni have taken part in the Program. This group of alumni includes present members of government,
parliamentarians, managers from large multinational corporations, managers in local government bodies, and
well-known social activists. The author and founder of the Program is the Polish-American Freedom
Foundation. The Program is also financially supported by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange
(NAWA).
🟢The Program offers two semesters of study in one of four Polish academic centers (Warsaw, Cracow, Wrocław,
Lublin) and at least two weeks of professional internship in state, private, or non-governmental organizations.
❗The program also offers an extensive training and workshop program.
❗The program is addressed to young leaders and experts who hold university degrees and are interested in the
development of democracy, economy, and civil society in their own countries and in the region.

💰FINANCIAL INFORMATION👇
- Free access to university classes and support from an academic advisor
- A stipend of PLN 19,800 (paid in 9 installments over 9 months).
In addition, the Program administrator provides the following (worth approx. 5000 PLN/month):
- accommodation during the whole stay in Poland
- health insurance for medical outpatient care, treatment costs in case of emergency, and civil liability
insurance
- one return ticket to Poland (up to an agreed limit)
- public transport cards
- visa costs
- research materials
- participation in an introductory course, and in grantees’ conventions,
- Polish language course (October–June).
🔎ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA👇
👉Citizenship and permanent residence in one of the target countries (holders of a Polish residence card,
👉and people living or working in Poland when applying for a scholarship are ineligible; however, this
👉criterion does not apply to Belarusian citizens living in Poland who arrived in Poland after August 2020,
or to Ukrainian citizens who found themselves in Poland after 24 February 2022 – such persons may
apply for Kirkland scholarships)
👉Full university education – completed Bachelor's or Master's degree, consisting of a minimum of four
years of degree study
👉Up to 40 years of age
👉 At least two years of professional experience
👉At least two years break from participation in a previous scholarship abroad that was longer than 6
months. This criterion does not apply to candidates from Ukraine, or, in individual cases, from Belarus.

📌The programme is hosted at one of the most renowned academic institutions in Europe and provides the fellows with an insider view into the EU policymaking processes.
The Policy Leader Fellowship (PLF) at the Florence School of Transnational Governance (STG) is a residential programme for mid-career policy professionals from a range of policy fields: politics, civil service, media, non-governmental organisations and others. This unique programme is nested within one of the most renowned academic institutions in Europe and provides the fellows with an insider view into the EU policy making processes. However, the programme does not require academic training background and instead seeks to attract individuals with diverse hands-on experiences in policymaking across the world. Besides having direct access to the STG and the EUI faculty and researcher community, the fellows learn from each other and form lasting professional and personal connections.
The fellows spend five or ten months at the STG developing policy recommendations and practical solutions for pressing issues of transnational relevance inspired and informed by their work experience. In addition, the fellows attend professional skills trainings and can freely participate in the academic life and activities of the EUI to enhance their fellowship project. At the same time, the fellows enrich the STG community by bringing their first hand experiences to teaching, training and networking at the School.
Upon the completion of the programme, the fellows join a global alumni network of policy professionals and have access to lifelong training opportunities at the EUI.
🗓️The fellowships are offered for a duration of five or ten months. Candidates should indicate their preference from the following options👇
👉Five months: September 2024 - January 2025 or February 2025 - June 2025
👉Ten months: September 2024 - June 2025
💰 The basic grant is € 2,500 per month.
Successful applicants who receive other grants or salaries must disclose this to the EUI. The amount of the Fellowship will be fixed at a lower rate (minimum €1,750 per month) depending on the amount of the additional income (upon production of relevant supporting documents).
If applicable, family allowances will be added to the basic grant

📌The International Renewable Energy Agency’s (IRENA) fifth IRENA Youth Forum: The New Generation of Decision Makers will convene in April 2024 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates at the margins of the fourteenth session of the IRENA Assembly (15-18 April 2024). The Assembly is the Agency’s ultimate decision-making authority where Heads of State/Government, Ministers and global stakeholders meet to discuss and advance the energy transition.
The 2024 IRENA Youth Forum will strengthen youth networks and connect them with global thought leaders, government representatives, and IRENA experts. The Forum will create a space for young people to contribute to the Agency’s mission of accelerating renewable energy deployment to achieve climate objectives and advance the sustainable development agenda.
Through a series of interactive sessions, including open dialogues and thematic workshops, participants will be able to add a youth perspective to the global energy discourse.
💰 Upon selection, full sponsorship, including travel and accommodations, will be provided for up to 35 participants.
